Described in Glynne (1877): "The font is octagonal upon a shaft of like form, beneath the basin are heads of animals and other ornaments." Cox & Harvey (1907) list a Perpendicular font in "Ottram", Kent. [NB: 'Ottram' has not been identified; it is likely that the site is actually Otham, near Langley]. Newman (1980): "Font. Only the bowl is old, but four of its sides have delightful early C14 carvings on their sloping undersides, a frowning face, two calf's heads, and a leaf." The English Heritage site [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-433200-church-of-st-nicholas-otham-kent] [accessed 31 January 2013] notes the font and a stoup: "octagonal early C14 font bowl with tooled verges, and hamfered base carved with frowning face, two calves heads and a leaf. Ogee-headed stoup to east of south door of nave."
