Described in Reyes-Valerio (2000: 311) as a holy-water stoup on which a floral motif somewhat resembling a tetrafoil appears [NB: a drawing of the motif appears in this source: fig. 29 on p. 311]. The 'Enciclopedia de los pueblos de México' (2001) [www.e-local.gob.mx] [accessed 21 May 2006] includes an illustration captioned "Pila bautismal de la Parroquia de Otumba" that shows two objects, presumably the baptismal font and a holy-water stoup; the latter consists of a large basin somewhat of quatrefoil shape, with decorated sides, raised on a plain cylindrical stem; the stoup (?) is large enough to be used as a baptismal font, though smaller than the font itself; they both stand in the baptistery area of the church, near the entrance [cf. Index entry for Otumba No. 1 for the baptismal font in this church]
