A font in this church is illustrated in Flickr [http://www.flickr.com/photos/dirkvde/2047677004/] [accessed 29 January 2010]: a hemispherical basin is decorated with a double moulding at the upper rim, and a pattern of torsade ribs around the sides and underbowl; raised on a octagonal-to-square pedestal base, the upper ring moulding very pronounced and octagonal; on a square lower base. Although the basin resembles a common type of Romanesque design, it is probably much later, perhaps of the early 16th century [NB: the Collegiate Church was built on the remains of a Romanesque church in this site -- could the basin be a re-tooled or re-cut earlier font?]. The font illustrated here is not made of marble; it appears to be a fine granite or a course limestone. The font cover is a very low octagonal pyramid with four handles; appears modern.
