Described and illustrated by Huerta Huerta in Soria románica (2001): the font consistes of a square basin ornamented with large foliage motif resembling very much a foliated capital; the basin interior has ribbed pattern leading to the central drain; the base is a cluster of columns with a rope moulding around the middle, and with a roll moulding separating it from the lower base volume. Huerta Huerat (ibid.) suggests its resemblance to the baptismal font at nearby Peroniel del Campo and dates both to the end of the 12th century. This same author (ibi.) quotes a local source [Indice de los libros de Bautizados y Casados..., t.2] as indicating that this object was moved to its present site in 1589 from the church in Cabezuelos [="la iglesia del pueblo de los Cabezuelos"]. [NB: a holy-water stoup of the late 12th century in this church is noted in http://www.soriaymas.com/ver.asp?tipo=articulo&id=2206 [accessed 4 December 2009]]
