Font Notes:
Noted in Tymms (1834) as a "very large" font. Lewis' Dictionary of 1848 reports: "the font is ancient, and has an octagonal top enriched with quatrefoils." Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a noteworthy baptismal font of the Norman period, one of the earliest and most interesting in the county. Described and illustrated in the Herefordshire inventory (1931-1934): "Font [...]: octagonal bowl with moulded under edge and moulded rim with band of quatrefoils, moulded base, 15th-century; cylindrical stem made up with section carved with coventional ornament, perhaps 12th or 13th century."
