There are three entries, one of which is multiple-place (3 places), for Bridport [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SY4692/bridport/] [accessed 6 January 2020], one of which reports "3 churches. 4.0 church lands" in it. During his visit to this church on 13 October 1825, Glynne (1923) noted: "The font is octagonal and ornamented with panneling and quatrefoils." Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) and in Long (1923) as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. In Newman & Pevsner (1972): "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with quatrefoil bowl and panelled stem." In Image The Dorset Historic Churches Trust [http://dorsethistoricchurchestrust.co.uk] as a baptismal font dated 1400. [a holy-water stoup probably of the same period is listed in this Index as Bridport No. 2]
