Font Notes:
Harrison (1920) reports an early-15th century font in this fine mainly Early English church. Described in Whiteman (1994) as a circular moulded baptismal font, probably of the 13th century. The design of the font appears to indicate an earlier, 13th-century date, rather than the late one assigned by Harrison [cf. supra]; bucket-shaped basin with several thick roll mouldings around the upper half, raised of cylindrical stem with a centre ring moulding, and a circular moulded lower base; the octagonal plinth appears modern. The wooden round cover could be Victorian.
