Harrison (1920), who reports the 1874 restoration of the church here, does not mention a font in it. The Victoria County History (Sussex, vol. 7, 1940) notes: "The church of St. Pancras [...] The external wall-facing is flint rubble, and the dressings are of stone, which has, however, been largely renewed during restorations. [...] The font is of unusual pattern, having a circular, heavily moulded bowl and a slightly narrower circular stem resting on a square base. It may be of the late 13th or early 14th century." Described and illustrated in Whiteman (1994): "The circular font is heavily moulded on bowl and stem".
