There is an entry for Wolvey [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SP4288/wolvey/] [accessed 18 February 2015]; it mentions a priest, but not a church in it, though there probably was one there. The Victoria County History (Warwick, vol 6, 1951) notes: "Apart from the south door, nothing remains of the 12th-century church. It was rebuilt early in the 13th century and again in the 14th century, the tower being either rebuilt or added in the 15th century. It has been considerably restored at various times [...] The font, in the south-west corner, is in the form of an octagonal pillar with a moulded capital and trefoiled panels; only the 14th-century capital with a deep lead-lined basin is original." English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP4307187983] (1960) reports: "C14 octagonal font has blind tracery which is partly C19."
