Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Hein (1966: 27-28 and fig. 20) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period attributed to Horder's workshop. The basin is cylindrical, ornamented with a rope moulding at the upper rim; a large acanthus vine runs all around the basin sides; the underbowl is rounded and plain. The block of the base is rounded at the top (rope or rolll moulding?) and square below with vertical sides rare in Horder's work; the upper surface of the base has a rope moulding delineating the contour and four (?) human heads, each at the corner.
