Described and illustrated in Hein (1966: 27 and fig. 25) as a hemispheric mounted baptismal font of the Romanesque period and attributed to Horder's workshop. The ornamentation of the basin is similar to the one at Hammelev, even though the one at Lyngby is more hemispheric whereas the Hammelev one is more cylindrical: rope moulding at the upper rim; a large acanthus vine around the basin side is separated by a thin double roll moulding from another such vine that runs all around the underbowl. A rope motif forms a ring around the bottom of the underbowl and meets an identical motif that adorns the upper end of the base. The rope motif is used also to delineate the four panels of the square lower base, in semi-circle shape; each of these panels appears to contain an animal or vegetation, some of the low-reliefs being badly damaged.
