Listed and illustrated in Mackeprang (1941) as a baptismal font in the 'Himmerland-Mariagertypen, Mariagergruppen-A' sugroup in his chapter on the Ostjydske løvefonte. Described and illustrated in Solmann (1967) as a granite font of the Hov group. On-site notes: granite baptismal font probably of the Romanesque peroid, consisting of a roughly hemispheric basin raised on a small plain and round pedestal base; the basin sides are ornamented with a programme of human figures and lions not dissimilar in style with those on the fonts at nearby Gassum and Vester Tørslev; the subjects, however, are different: the two bi-corporal passant-gardant lions are standard; the male mustachioed figure between two of the lions, is a pilgrim, decked with staff, shell insignia, etc.; on the opposite side a bare-breasted woman is bein swallowed by a dragon, the tail of which runs along the right side under the lion and the pilgrims feet; the body of the dragon is feathered.
