Font Notes:
Illustrated in Udvalgte Middelalderkirker i Østjylland (1997: 70, 71) as a wooden octagonal mounted baptismal font, probably of the late 17th or early 18th century; the basin has floral/folaige motifs on the sides, with garlands at the corners; the base is made of a sculptural scene of the Baptism of Christ -with putti- on an octagonal lower base. It appears to be one of the type that serves as a holder for a metal basin, but simulating a font proper. The same source (cf. supra) attributes the pulpit and the font to Peder Jensen Kolding's workshop. Noted and in Thyra's 'Church and manor in Denmark' [http://thyrashm.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html] [accessed 26 September 2010]: "The pulpit is from the 1600s like the richly carved wooden baptismal font which carries the names of Herluf Trolle and Birgitte Gøye and the year 1570".
