Listed in Mackeprang (1941: 258). Described and illustrated in Danmarks kirker: Århus amt (1968- , Bd. 9, hft. 50: 4845, 4862, fig. 11 on p. 4837 and fig. 23 on p. 4847): "a Romanesque font belonging to the group of east Jutland lion fonts of the so-called Horsens type" [="Horsenstype"]; the basin is hemispheric with low-relief [3-5 mm] lions and foliage motif; pronounced plain centre ring and conical base ornamented with equally shallow foliage motif, giving the font a chalice-like look; also listed in the DK entry is an engraved south-German mid-16th century brass baptismal dish. Noted and illustrated in Søren Kaspersen's Jyske fonte med modstillede løver.[1] Et præliminært studie, 17.8.2016 klo 23.15 | Tieteelliset artikkelit | TAHITI 04/2016 [https://tahiti.journal.fi/article/view/85640/44590] [accessed 16 November 2023] as a baptismal font on which basin are two facing lions above a foliage pattern on the base; a lion has a leg out of the gap like the corresponding lion on the Smidstrup font, while a man's head shoots out of the lion's mouth as on the font in Sønderbæk, perhaps symbolsing the immersion and exit from the baptismal waters of the font ["På fonten i Hansted kirke – helt vest på i Thy – ses som eneste udsmykning på kummen to modstillede løver over en krans af store bægerblade nederst på skålen.
