Alain Bouvet's Pour la Commanderie d'Arveyres (2013) [https://commanderiearveyres.wixsite.com/accueil/la-commanderie-darveyres] [accessed 30 July 2023] informs that the village grounds of Arveyres were ceded to the Knights Templar in 1231 by Raymond Gombaud, sire of Vayres; the Templars built a church dedicated to St. Mary to serve their needs and those of the small parish; it further informs of a baptismal font semi-buried in the grounds of the Kinghts Templar commanderie of Arveyres, later moved to the parish church of Cardasac ["La cuve des fonts baptismaux, retrouvés partiellement enterré sur le site de la commanderie et ayant été vraisemblablement utilisé comme auge durant de nombreuses décennies a, quant à elle, été placée dans l'église Sainte Eulalie de Cadarsac."]
