Church Notes: although a re-building of the medieval church was planned, a new church was consecrated in 1862
Noted and illustrated in Blomqvist (1929) as a baptismal font made of sandstone in the latter half of the 12th century by the 'Njudungsmästaren'. Inventoried and illustrated in Borg (2002) as a 'Njudungsgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone in 1170-1220. Listed as a baptismal font of the Bestiarius workshop (Group 3) in Drake (2002: 183). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910724F1] as a 'Njudungsgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone in the second half of the 12th century, the basin sides decorated with an arcade of seven arches with inscribed animals. There is significant damage to the lower base, with large parts missing and at least one of the heads having been re-carved. No cover present.
