Scene Description: Although some details are eroded the complex decoration of each element is till discernible: the 'capitals' are garland-like circles inscribing floral motifs, the colomns have a torsade central pillar inside, the arch-heads are decorated with beaded-tape, the ground is actually scalloped, etc.

Noted in Blomqvist (1929) as athe basin of a medieval font of the 'Bestiariusgruppen'. Inventoried and illustrated in Borg (2002) as a 'Grännagruppen' made of limestone ca. 1230; original base missing. Described in Drake (2002: 141, 142, 143, 183) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period belonging to the Bestiarius workshop (Group 1); the basin has a "cylindrical upper part above a steeply sloping lower section". Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910703F1] as the surviving basin of a font made of limestone ca. 1200; the SHM mentions the attribution to Bestiarius in Blomqvist [cf. supra] but it does not endorse it, describing it instead as "Upphovsman oidentifierad - saknar paralleller"; the entry in the SHM identifies an eight-arch arcade containing, among others, two pairs of lions, a pair of eagles in a heraldic pose and foliage. Noted in Ullén & Ljungstedt (2003) after Blomqvist, in their section on 'Bestiariusgruppens efterföljare'.
