Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], like a pattern-book of window types, six of them, Dec[orated] and Perp[endicular], and two larger tracery motifs." The basin has straight vertical sides ornamented with gothic windows and tracery [a/p Pevsner et al., supra]; the base is a plain octagonal pedestal ending in a slightly wider lower base, equally octagonal and plain; a pyramidal wooden cover of octagonal plan and later date tops the font; at its top, a cross finial.
