Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes d'Indre-et-Loire (2001, v. 1: 471) as an oval mounted baptismal font of the 14th century; the oval basin is divided into two wells on the inside; the outer basin sides are ornamented with a series of trefoil windows, like an arcade; the base consists of short columns complete with capitals and bases. Listed in Palissy [ref.: IM37000918] [NB: no access to Palissy on 10 May 2025]. This object appears on a 24 August 2024 by GO69 [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rivière_(37)_Église_Notre-Dame_-_Intérieur_-_Fonts-baptismaux.jpg] [accessed 10 May 2025] with the caption: " Intérieur de l'église Notre-Dame à Rivière (37). Fonts-baptismaux (sarcophage en remploi)." Illustratd also in https://montjoye.net/notre-dame-de-riviere [accessed 10 May 2025] labelled "autel-XIVe", but it is located at the southwest end of the nave, near the doorway, and has a wooden cover on.
