Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes de la Sarthe (2001, v. 2: 1549) as a rectangular basin with plain vertical sides; the inner well, also rectangular is divided into two compartments of approximately the same size by a plate of the same material as the rest of the basin, dark-grey slate. This same source suggests that the limestone base, dated by an inscription to 1697, belonged to a different and later font. This base is also rectangular but with delineated volumes for main and secondary bodies; the inscription [not legible in the source] appears around the upper base side between two mouldings.
