Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes de la Sarthe (2001, v. 2: 1247) as a round (or oval) baptismal font in black marble dated from 1687 by an inscription on the basin side (the inscription says "DON [=gift] / 1687" but does not mention mention the actual donor(s). The source (ibid.) refers to two other such objects donated to churches of the area about the same time by a local salt-tax collector [NB: Honorat Gomer, the salt-tax collector, donated a baptismal font to the church of Cherré and a holy-water stoup to the church of Lamnay - cf. Index entries]
