Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes de la Sarthe (2001, v. 2: 1244) as a holy-water stoup made of black marble and dated from 1686 by an inscription that also records the name of the donor, Honorat Gomer, sieur des Jaunières and the salt-tax collector at Montmirail. The basin is circular with a significant scotia at the upper rim side; the inscription runs along the sides of the basin. The square pedestal base is of the baluster type. [NB: this same Honorat Gomer donated a baptismal font to the church of Cherré - cf. BSI entry]
