Notd in Roosval (1918). Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Uppland (1921- , Bd. VIII, hft. 1: 90, 149) as a "sandstone baptismal font of a type dating probably from the second quarter of the 12th century". Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 940801F2] as a "mellansvensk verkstad / västsvensk typ" baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200. The hemispherical basin has a broad band of two-strand intersecting circles intersecting; these are also crossed by a two-strand line all around; the base consists of a centre ring in the form of a thick rope moulding and a plain conical lower part. No cover present. At some point in the past this stone font was replaced by a decorated wooden stand which, with a metal baptismal dish atop, wbecame the baptismal font in use, as it shows in a 1926 photograph [cf. ImagesArea]; by 1929, however, the stone font is documented back in use inside the church [cf. ImagesArea] [NB: the later wooden font is still in the church at this time [September 2020] and may perhaps be in use for baptisms as well].
