Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Uppland (1921- , Bd. VII, hft. 2: 250 and fig. 232 on p. 253) as a composite baptismal font: the basin, made of reddishGotland limestone, has a tetralobed shape and is ornamented with a ribbed pattern all around; it is badly damaged, especially around the upper part, and is dated in the source towards the early or mid 13th century. The same source (ibid.) identifies it as probably the work of a Gotland workshop, and gives the basins of the fonts at Vreta Kloster and Roslags-Bro as cognates. The short base is made of sandstone and identified (ibid.) as earlier than the basin, ca. 1200; this same source (ibid., p. 352ff) suggests that the original base of this font may be the one now under the basin at nearby Håbo-Tibble [cf. Index entry] *** [to be completed with SK... data]***
