Scene Description: Source caption: "Runsten U 608 utanför Västra Ryds kyrka i Upplands-Bro" [11thC?] -- the Wikipedia entry has: "Väster om kyrkan står runstenen U 608, ristad på 1000-talet. Stenen restes på sin nuvarande plats år 1943 efter att tidigare ha legat som en del i en vägbro utanför prästgården. I ett ännu tidigare skede var runstenen troligen inmurad i prästgårdens ugnsmur. Inskriptionen är något skadad och inte bevarad i sin helhet: "…Igulbjörn Kvigulv, alla dessa bröder läto uppresa stenarna, Sigrids söner ...""

Church Notes: a Runic stone of the 11thC nearing a cross is located in the graveyard -- original church early-13thC; modified and enlarged 15th, 17th, 18th, 19thC; restored mid-20thC
Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Uppland (1921- , Bd. VII, hft. 1: 124 and fig. 115 on p. 126) as a cylindrical mounted baptismal font of the 13th century; the basin, which was recovered in 1924 from the churchyard, is cylindrical and plain, not very deep, with a flat rounded underbowl and a ring moulding that appears to be part of this same block; this part is dated to the 13th century. The pedestal base is conical, a modern reconstruction dated to 1928, and has a splayed lower part. The baptismal dish is modern, 20th-century. No font cover present. Noted and illustrated in the SHM’s database Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 940831F1] as a "ciborietyp" baptismal made of limestone in the mid-13th century.
