Described and illustrated in Tyrrell-Green (1928: 35) as a square mounted baptismal font; the corners of the basin have unfinished angle shafts, which give the basin the appearance of having had its top sliced off (Other such fonts at Henllan in Cardiganshire,Tresillian in Cornwall, and Worthing in Norfolk. The CADW listing of 1996 [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/wa-15651-church-of-st-michael-troedyraur] [accessed 8 January 2015] reports: "C13 square font with unusual short round beads at outer angles and some incised outlining."
