Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Uppland (1921- , Bd. VI, hft. 5: 752-754 and fig. 734 on p. 754) as a composite font consisting of a medieval sandstone base from the second half of the 12th century and a basin commisioned by "greve" [=count] Conrad Magnus von Rosen for the church at Ed and carved in 1918 by Anton Lundberg. The base is of the type that has an upper ring moulding above four heads (often one human and three animal); the heads are badly weathered and therefore unidentifiable now. The basin is cylindrical with vertical sides and a rounded underbowl. The sides of this modern basin are ornamented with four scenes: 1)Baptism of Christ; 2)Three Magi; 3)Annunciation; 4)Flight to Egypt; the upper basin side ahas a band of foliage motif or a garland; the lower rim of the underbowl has an inscription [cf. Inscription area] with the carver and donor information.
