There are five entries for Skillington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK8925/skillington/] [accessed 7 January 2019] one of which reports 0.5 churches in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular]. The stem mostly with square leaves, the bowl with quatrefoils and crenellation." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK8955425898] notes: "Parish church. C11, c.1300, C13, C14, C17, C19. [...] All fittings are C19 except for a C17 oak chest and the fine C14 octagonal font with cusped panels to the bowl and richly ornamental octagonal stem." The basin has large crenellation pattern at the upper rim side, and a large quatrefoil in a circle on each side; a flower or a stylised lion (?) head at each angle of the chamfer; octagonal pedestal base, each side divided into two parts, up and down, each with a motif on it: animal heads, square roses and other floral motifs; the lower volume of the base is square and has the sort of angle protrusions commonly used in fonts to accommodate the one shape to the other. Wooden cover with flat fottom and four trusses with a knob finial; probably modern.
