The base is a tetra-lobed pedestal with an equally-shaped centre ring. Tynell (ibid.) refers to the font at Östra-Herrestad in Skåne as part of the Holmby group, similar to the one at Frötuna in Uppland. Roosval (1917: 199) gives the font at Hedesunda in Gästrikland as cognate as well. Drake (2002: 183) lists this font as part of the "Lübeck type-b (quatrefoil basin)". Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900713F2] as a 'musselcuppstyp modifierad' batismal font made of limestone in the 14th century.
