Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Uppland (1921- , Bd. II, hft. 3: 292-294) as a limestone baptismal font from the second half of the 13th century; the basin is tetra-lobed with a rounded underbowl, its sides ornamented with a blind arcade of pointed arches (it could be described also as pointed-rib pattern); the upper rim side has a moulding all around. The base is a tetra-lobed pedestal with an equally-shaped centre ring; the lower base part is missing. Roosval (1917: 199) gives the font at Hedesunda in Gästrikland as cognate to this one. Tynell (1913- , Bd. 2: 22) shows the font at Östra-Herrestad in Skåne as similar. It is suggested in this source (ibid.) that the old font from this mid-12th century church is the one now at nearby Vätö [cf. Index entry for Vätö]
