Church Notes: present stone church built 1790-1793 retaining the south and west walls of the medieval church; complted 1823;
Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Blekinge (1926-1965, Bd. II: 137 and fig. 120 on p. 138) as a wooden (oak) octagonal baptismal font dated 1637 by an inscription, the date of its donation to the church; the basin is octagonal with a thin protruding rim at the top; under it a crenellated pattern; the panels of the vertical sides bear an inscription [cf. Inscription area]; there is a set of eight external shafts decorated with foliage motif supporting the basin, as well as a central multi-leaf support; the lower base octagonal as well. The same source informs that the font was painted in 1690 by master Jon Columbus of Karlskrona. The baptismal dish in use was made of silver in 1828.
