Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Blekinge (1926-1965, Bd. II: 36ff; Bd. V: 86 and fig. 66 on p. 79) as a wooden hexagonal baptismal font of the mid-17th century, carved, painted and gilded; the sides of the basin are ornamented with 1)a shield bearing the skull and cross-bones; outside the shield are the initials "MI SK"; 2)shield with coat of arms; initials K HD (Kock, a churchwarden?) and date 1649 outside the shield; 3)scene of the Fall, with Adam and Eve to the sides of the Tree and the serpent; 4)upper body of an angel; 5-6)fruit motif ornamentation. The lower base is a hexagonal box which serves as the base for the central pedestal of hexagonal baluster type, and the three mermaids who support the basin like atlantes. The central shaft, its base and the upper areas of the basin are ornamented with foliage motifs.
