Octagonal mounted font probably of the later (17th) rather than the earlier (16th) century; it coul be even 18th century, especially considering the basin mouldings and the shallowness. The central drain of the basin well appears to have been blocked. [We are grateful to Peter Fairweather, Lincoln for the colour image of this font; he suggests that the material might be alabaster, although it looks more like a chalky limestone]]
