Described and illustrated in Bonnier and Ullén (Sveriges kyrkor: Närke, volym 166: 1976: 74) as the mid-17th century limestone baptismal font of the "gamla kyrka" [old church]; this font consisted of a shallow octagonal basin with an inscription incised on the upper rim surface; the inscription dated the font to 1660 and gave the name of the donor as Erik Noræus; the underbowl was ornamented with deep-relief foliage motif. The thin pedestal base was also octagonal with two bulb-like motifs towards its middle; the lower base was shaped and sized like the basin (upside-down and without the ornamentation). This font was destroyed in the fire of 1968.
