Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Gotland (Bd. VII, hft. 4: 72, 73, 107) as a sandstone baptismal font dated to the middle of the 17th century; it has a small hemispherical basin and a tall vase-shaped base and is raised on a little square plinth. The font was painted in 1662, probably by Johan Bartsch the Elder and bears an inscription with the names of the donors, H. Peder Brianth and Ane Mortens. On-site notes: the painted polychromatic ornamentation is mostly foliage/floral, and only on the basin sides; there is an arcade of thick arches and a moulding above it; the rest of the painting is inside the arches and in the spandrels; there is an inscription with the names and dates painted in black lettering on the upper surface of the rim; the bulbous base is unpainted, with shallow carved panels; the initials carved on the bottom of the inner basin are the artist's.
