Described and illustrated in Le Patrimoine... de la Vendée (2001, v. 2: 1013) as a black-marble baptismal double-font of the 17th century. It consists of a basin with the typical shape found in these fonts all over France: rounded and oval, with a rounded protruding upper rim followed down by a scotia and a rounded underbowl; the inner part of the basin is divided into two circular wells of equal or similar size and, between them, at opposite ends, two much smaller wells, usually rectangular, for the storage of holy oils, etc. The base is a pedestal of the round-baluster type and a square lower base, both, again, typical of this font group..
