Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Le Patrimoine... de la Vendée (2001, v. 2: 989) as the remains of a granite baptismal font from the old church, now located in the Jardin de la Cure and dated to the 13th century. The illustration (ibid.) shows a pedestal base and the lower end of a square basin, with most of the basin sides missing; the fragment is obviously out in the open, surrounded by weeds. [NB: the source (ibid.) mentions its belonging to the "ancienne église" that is recorded since at least 1179; the date of the font is given as 13th century; the shape of the fragment would also match a later dating as well] [a much eroded and moss-covered stoup, also said to have belonged to the old church, is located in this same garden]
