Described and illustrated in Le Patrimoine... de la Vendée (2001, v. 2: 971) as a monolithic granite holy-water stoup of the 11th or 12th century; it is roughly octagonal, both inside and out, with very thick walls, and totally plain. It is said to have been the stoup of the private chapel of the seigneurs de Preuilly, a local fiefdom; the chapel was destroyed during the Revolution (ibid.)
