Described and illustrated in Le Patrimoine... de la Vendée (2001, v. 1: 237) as the holy-water stoup from the chapel of the former Commanderie de Aulnay; the Commanderie was burned down durin the Revolution; the stoup is the only object left of the old chapel. The stoup is tub-shaped, hemispheric, without a base. [NB: the basin shows a drain hole on one side, towards the middle; this is probably an indication of its later use in a farm or garden rather than related to its original drainage].
