Baptismal font listed in Palissy [ref.: PM85000933]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] granite : taillé [...] H = 101 ; la = 100 ; pr = 80". Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: OA085_20218500571]. Described and illustrated in Le Patrimoine... de la Vendée (2001, v. 1: 92) as a baptismal font in granite found in 1970 by M. l'abbé Tricot broken up into three parts: one was in the presbitery garden, another in the belfry and the last one in a cellar; in 1971, M. Tricot's successor, M. l'abbé Jules Coutaud, had it restored and moved to the choir of the church. It is believed the font was broken up by Protestants in the 17th century. The basin appears quadrangular (?) on the outside with trimmed corners; one of the side panels of the basin is ornamented with little Gothic arches that may have had some motif in them in the past; another of the sides appears to have lillies on it. The pedestal is plain and the lower base has a round moulding all around. [cf. Index entry for Bois-de-C... No. 2 for a Gothic stoup in the same church]
