Church Notes: late-12thC church; modified 15thC; restored 19thC
Tynell (1913-1921: 76) reported a medieval granite basin abandoned in the churchyard. The granite basin had been lying in the churchyard, used as a water trough; it was restored to the church interior and given a new base in 1939. Described in Sveriges kyrkor: Skåne (1932- , Bd. II, hft. 1: 180, 181) as the basin of a Romanesque baptismal font; the basin is hemispherical in shape and totally plain, of reddish-grey granite. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910530F1] as the basin of a baptismal font made of granite ca. 1200, a Danish work. No cover present. The baptismal dish was made of brass in the 17th century.
