Noted in Suckling (1846-1848): "octangular font, round the base of which are traces of an inscription now illegible". Parker (1855) reports a good font in this church. Described in Bond (1908) as an octagonal mounted baptismal font of the 15th century; the sides of the basin are ornamented with "demi-angels" alternating with lions. Cautley (1982) describes the 17th-century cover as "charming". The angels hold blank shields; the underbowl chamfer has the usual double set of decoration on this type of font: angel heads on the top, floral motifs below; the octagonal-to-square pedestal base has seated lions and buttresses alternating all around. The wooden cover has a crown-like base with carved sides, with raised scroll ribs converging on a finial above.
