Described and illustrated in Sveriges kyrkor: Skåne (Bd. I, hft. 1: 4, 7, 16, 17, 20) as a medieval sandstone baptismal font originally from the old church; a new (?) lid was put on it in 1780. The font was moved to the new church in the 1890s. This same source (ibid., fig. 8 on p. 7) shows a photograph in which can be seen the old wooden canopy of the font [Hist. Mus. Lund photograph of 1932], dismantled and resting on the pews of the northern side of the nave; it is painted in gold, silver, white, blue, red, green and black; it has an inscription on its sides [cf. InscriptionArea]. (The canopy is said to be probably from the mid-1700s, the work of Johan Ullberg who, in 1760 restored the pulpit). Described in Tynell (1913-1921: 47) as a unique Romanesque type, "Dagstorpsgrupp" and dates to the end of the 12th century [NB: some authors used the old spelling 'Kjeflinge']. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900618F1] as a baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200 by a regional workshop; it has a large square drain exit on the lower base side; the SHM entry . No cover present.
