Bond (1908: 271) cites an archival source that makes reference to a payment made in 1574 related to the baptismal font: "vijs. ixd., for a tin basson for the font". Unfortunately, as Blatch (1995: 175) informs, the church of St. Peter Cheap was one of several parish churches in the area near St. Paul's Cathedral that were "demolished or destroyed".
