Noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). Described and illustrated in Bond (1908) as a 13th-century baptismal font; the basin is shaped like a square foliated capital, with no vertical sides; the base is a cylindrical pedestal with rol mouldings at top and bottom [NB: Bond gives the county as Leicestershire, but is now in Northamptonshire]. Noted in Pevsner (1984): "Font. Late C12 or early C13. The form is that of a large capital with big upright leaf shapes ending in small bud-like lobed leaves, probably retooled."
