Described and illustrated in Bach-Nielsen (1998). On-site notes: hexagonal baptismal font and matching cover, both made of wood; it is very ornate and painted and gilded all over; the corners of the basin have large and protruding mermaid busts; the rest of the surface is either gilded or painted and covered in foliage curlicues; the base is made up of three 'feet', each with a couchant lion holding a scrool inscribed (painted) with parts of the date of the font; the cover is equally ornate and has cherubs on it as well; the finial is a Baptism of Christ scene with John -much taller than Christ- holding a book in his left hand; an inscription appears on the sides of the lower part of the cover; there is a pair of shields with coats of arms [these coats of arms appear also on some bench-ends of the nave; the mechanism for opening the cover is of the less common type: a metal arm fixed to the north wall permits to swing the cover open sideways; the font is dated 1655 by a painted inscription, both on the cover and on the font itself. There is no medieval font in this church and we have no information on the whereabouts of the original font of the medieval church.
