Noted in the Kirkehistoriske samlinger (1853-1856) as a baptismal font carved with a programme somewaht similar to the one in Kirke Helsinge; the description mentions animals and figural motifs on its basin, one of which probably king Olav. Described and illustrated in Danmarks kirker: Sorø (Bd. 2: 1004, 1005) as an octagonal baptismal font of Gotland limestone from the 14th century; the octagonal basin is ornamented with figures, animals and other motifs in mid-relief: 1) crowned St. Olav with an ax [in his right hand] and a orb-and-cross [in his left hand]; 2-3) symmetrically arranged -but not identical- stylised lions, one of which has the tail end in a palmette shape; 4-6) trefoil arches with little crowned heads in the spandrels of the arcade; 7)similar arch with a rosette and three small buds in the spandrels; 8) human figure (male?) wearing a rosette-shaped broach (?) on his chest, his hands on his chest framing the broach; to the left and right of the head, a little rosette motif. The base is of two parts: the upper is a prismatical octagon, the lower end slightly wider than the upper; the lower part is also octagonal but splays widely toward the bottom. Described and illustrated also in Mackeprang (1941: 387ff), who identifies twelve trefoil arches as well the St. Olav figure and dates the font to the 15th century together with the ones identified as part of the "Fabeldyrsfonte" [=fabled animal fonts] / "Fröjel-Falsterbo" group of fonts. Lidén (1998: 72) goes with Mackeprang's date and considers these fonts the first ones where the appearance of St. Olav can be ascertained.
