Font Notes:
Described in Lidén (1998: 70-71) as the fragment of a baptismal font attributed to a master "Thorkillus" (Torkel, Thorgel) whose works date from the first half of the 13th century; this master is apparently not the same as the one known as Lödösemästeren; the fragment is inscribed with Runic characters [cf. Inscription area] which names both the master and St. Olav. [cf. BSI entry for Skepplanda No.1 for details of its medieval font installed in Lödöse St Peders kyrka in 1731]
