Described and illustrated in De danske kirker (Bd. 16, Sydøstjylland: 14-16) as a cylindrical mounted Romanesque baptismal font in granite dated to ca. 1200. Also described and illustrated in Mackeprang as the smallest of the group of "arkadenfontene" [=arcade fonts], very similar -though not identical- to the fonts at Anst and Vamdrup, also in Jutland; the basin is cylindrical with a rope motif at both upper and lower rims; between them, an arcade of round arches [eleven in this font], most of which contain either figures or symbols identified as: 1)Madonna with a crowned Christ child on her lap; 2)bishop; 3)female figure with hands to the stomach; 4)male figure, also both hands on the stomach [Mackeprang suggests identification as Eve and Adam, the round object in the male's hand, the apple]; 5)[acanthus plant/Tree of Life?]; 6)[blank]; 7)Tree of Life with storks' nest and one bird on it, two below on the stalk; 8)angel armed with sword; 9)[human figure wrapped in cloak?]; 10)Mary and Elizabeth: Visitation scene; 11)[plant/tree/Tree of Life?]. Mackeprang points out the similarity of this program with Vamdrup's. Though not mentioned in either source, the base consists of a plain upper cylindrical part, and a lower square volume ornamented with foliage motifs on the sides.
