Baptismal font illustrated in Andrea Kirkby http://www.flickr.com/photos/andreakirkby/1676122975/ [accessed 13 January 2010]. The roughly hemispherical basin has an interlace pattern all around, with one of the loops of the interlace larger and inscribing a large 'S' with a bar at the top, another an 'F' with a dot on the right side; the base is a pedestal, foliated square capital at the top, then cylindrical and with a large roll moulding at the lower base, with motifs (?) at the angles; it appears to be of an earlier date. Though the interlace of linked circles is usually a Romanesque motif, the presence of the two initials and their shape, points to a later-medieval date, perhaps the 15th or 16th century for the basin; the pedestal base could be earlier.
